Starlink WiFi, smart home lighting, and a beachfront bedroom. Monthly rentals built for remote professionals.
Check Dates and PricingIf you can work from anywhere with a laptop and reliable internet, Mākaha Beach Cabanas gives you a beachfront home office on Oahu for $5,995 per month. The WiFi is Starlink satellite internet, which delivers consistent speeds for video conferencing, screen sharing, and large file transfers without the reliability issues that plague traditional Hawaiian ISPs. The time zone is HST (UTC-10), which means if your team is on Pacific time, you start at 7 AM their time when it is still cool and quiet here at 5 AM. East Coast teams start at 4 AM HST, so afternoon meetings wrap up by noon your time, leaving the rest of the day for the beach.
The units are equipped with Philips Hue full-spectrum smart lighting that lets you set the color temperature for focused work during the day and warm relaxation in the evening. A BedJet in-sheet climate system keeps you comfortable at night despite the tropical heat. The bedroom at Papaoneone Beach literally opens to the sand at the ground-floor Azul unit, or offers panoramic ocean views from the wraparound balcony in the upstairs Noir unit. Both have a full kitchen, dedicated parking, and sliding glass doors that open 67% of the bedroom wall for a true indoor/outdoor feel. Azul has A/C while Noir stays cool with the BedJet 3 and a near-constant ocean breeze.
Satellite internet with consistent speeds. No shared building bandwidth. Reliable enough for all-day Zoom calls and screen sharing.
Philips Hue full-spectrum lighting. Set cool daylight for focus mode, warm amber for evening wind-down, or anything in between.
Dining table works as a desk with ocean views. Bring your monitor and keyboard, or work from the balcony with your laptop.
Coffee maker, full-size fridge, oven, and everything you need. No $8 hotel coffees or $20 room service breakfasts.
Papaoneone Beach is your backyard. Take a surf break at lunch, swim after work, watch the sunset from your lanai every evening.
UTC-10 means your workday ends early. Pacific teams start at 7 AM their time (5 AM here). Afternoons are yours.
Wake up to ocean sounds. Coffee on the lanai as the sky turns pink.
Start work while it is cool and quiet. East Coast teams are just logging on.
Most meetings done. Lunch break surf session or beach walk.
Wrap up async work. Deep focus time with no interruptions.
Done for the day. Snorkel, paddleboard, or explore the coast.
Watch the sunset from your balcony or the beach. Cook dinner in your kitchen.
Yes. We use Starlink satellite internet, which provides consistent download and upload speeds suitable for HD video conferencing, screen sharing, large file transfers, and concurrent device usage. It does not share bandwidth with a building full of other guests like hotel WiFi does.
Hawaii Standard Time (HST) is UTC-10. That is 3 hours behind Pacific, 5 behind Central, and 6 behind Eastern. Hawaii does not observe daylight saving time, so the offset stays constant year-round. Most remote workers find this means their workday ends by early afternoon, leaving the rest of the day free.
The dining area works well as a workspace with ocean views. The balcony (Noir unit) or the living area (Azul unit) also work for laptop setups. We recommend bringing your own external monitor and keyboard if you prefer a multi-screen setup. There are plenty of outlets and the WiFi reaches every corner of the unit.
30 nights minimum. This is a legal requirement for vacation rentals in our zone on Oahu. The rate is $5,995 for 30 nights, all-inclusive. Extensions are available in 30-day increments if you want to stay longer.
The property is in a gated, secure complex with only 2 units and security cameras. The neighborhood is residential and quiet. Mākaha is a local community, not a tourist area, which means less foot traffic and more genuine aloha. We have hosted many solo travelers and remote workers without issues.
There are no coworking spaces in Mākaha itself. The nearest options are in Kapolei (about 25 minutes) or downtown Honolulu (45 to 60 minutes). Most remote workers here prefer working from the unit, the balcony, or a beachside spot. The WiFi is strong enough that you do not need to leave for connectivity.
